    About the monogram books

The two books "Monogram Quilling" and "Paper Monograms" by author and artist Stacy Bettencourt of Qu

    More About the Books

In late 2017, Becker  & Mayer contacted me about creating monograms for a book and kit to be published in the fall. They sent me samples of what they were looking for (imagine Yulia's "Joy" piece), but the catch was that I could only use limited colors and a few basic shapes. The amount of time they gave me to design and create the monograms was extremely limited. For those of you who understand how time-consuming quilling is, you'll understand why this made for a difficult project. And, at the time, I had just lost my beloved dog, Duke, and was in a deep state of grief. Looking back on the project now, I wish I'd had more time as my best creative work is done in bursts of spontaneity and not on a rigid time schedule.
